So you can point the mirror at the location you want to watch. It has an adjustable mounting bracket that conceals the camera wires and allows you to find the proper angle of observation. The modern reflective material of the mirror allows the camera to see through one side while remaining completely concealed from the mirrored side. The 1/3" Sony Super HAD CCD image sensor provides a whopping 480 lines of resolution video that is plenty for almost any use.
